Hal Sutton withdrew from the U.S. Senior Open Championship on Tuesday due to a hip injury.

Sutton, a member of the Champions Tour's all-time money list, was fully exempt. The 1980 U.S. Amateur champion will be replaced by David Ladd, the first alternate from the sectional qualifying site in St. Augustine, Fla.

Ladd will make his first U.S. Senior Open appearance and will play alongside Corey Pavin and Steve Elkington for the first two rounds.
