Trial begins for man charged with murdering girlfriend

Jury selection got under way Monday in Sedgwick County District Court in the first-degree murder trial of a 42-year-old Wichita man charged in the death of his 38-year-old girlfriend.

Anson Bernhardt is charged in the beating death of Amber Kostner, whose body was found Sept. 30 in a ditch across the road from Campus High School in Haysville.

The trial is being held in the courtroom of District Judge William Woolley.
