Authorities on Saturday recovered a body at Cheney Reservoir, according to a Reno County dispatch supervisor.

Earlier in the day, a 19-year-old man went missing after he reportedly went under the water and did not resurface, according to dispatch. The man disappeared before 5 p.m. on the west side of the lake by a yacht club.

A body was found a few hours later, another dispatch supervisor said.

The man’s name has not been released.

Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks officers used a boat to search the lake, the dispatch supervisor said. Cheney and Pretty Prairie firefighters, as well as emergency medical services personnel from Pretty Prairie, assisted in the search, he said.
