In the wake of Thursday night’s line of strong storms that rolled through central and southcentral Kansas, the Wichita metropolitan area will be notably cooler today.

Highs will only reach the mid-90s under sunny skies, forecasters say, with north winds gusting to more than 20 miles an hour. Overnight lows will fall to the mid-60s, and the weekend will be sunny and pleasant with highs in the 80s.
