Minnesota polymer company to open plant in Hesston

A Minnesota-based company that manufactures polyethylene parts for agriculture, industrial and commercial industries plans to open a facility in Hesston.

According to the Kansas Department of Commerce, GVL Polymers will operate from a 50,000-square-foot facility in Hesston, according to a news release from the state agency.

GVL Polymers is a privately held company. The Hesston facility, which is expected to employ more than 20 full-time workers in its first year of operation, is the company’s second plant. The release did not provide details on when it would open.

An announcement to discuss the new plant will be made at 4 p.m. Thursday at 8515 N. Hesston Road in Hesston, according to the release. Representatives will be present from the Kansas Department of Commerce, the Harvey County Economic Development Council and the city of Hesston.
