Two men were arrested in unrelated events linked to the same police investigation late Monday night and early Tuesday, officials said.

Officers were called to an apartment complex at 1510 W. Pawnee shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday in response to an argument between two men that had become physical, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

When the officers arrived, they discovered that a 47-year-old man had been stabbed in the left forearm and the upper chest. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment.

An 18-year-old woman who witnessed the attack, along with the suspect, were taken to City Hall for questioning, Nolte said. During the course of the investigation, police learned that an argument the previous week in a second apartment was linked to the case.

Officers went to that apartment, where they questioned an 18-year-old man. During that interview, Nolte said, they noticed a pound of marijuana “individually bagged up for sale.” They also found scales.

A 16-year-old who was listed as a runaway was also found in the apartment. She was returned to her parents, while the 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug-related offenses.

The 48-year-old man suspected in the stabbing incident was also booked into jail, Nolte said.
