A 25-year-old man was apparently winning at beer pong when ultimately he was beaten by his adversaries.

The man told Wichita police he was at a party playing beer pong – a drinking game where players try to get a pingpong ball to land in a glass of beer. He said he was winning but then a verbal argument broke out between him and his opponents.

The argument quickly became violent. One of the players punched the man repeatedly in his face and another player struck him in the head with a 2-by-4 board, causing a 4-inch laceration to his cheek.

The man wasn’t able to tell police where the party was or who the men were who beat him, only that the party was somewhere within an area of Pawnee and Oliver.

The incident happened at 3:25 a.m. Sunday.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he received seven stitches to his cheek and two staples for a 2-inch cut to his head.
