A 42-year-old man was arrested after an argument Monday with his 45-year-old girlfriend in the 600 block of South Kansas, near Kellogg and Hydraulic.

Police said the man produced a box-cutter-style knife during the argument and threatened to cut her. As she was trying to move away, she picked up her stuffed dog, which he grabbed and cut open.

The man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and destruction of property.
