Scrap-metal dealers hold the answer to copper theft in Wichita. Let the scrap dealers and the insurance companies work together on a solution each can live with. The dealers know that the scrap they pay for was stolen from someone’s air conditioner. Maybe it will be theirs next time.

It was about time the city fixed its own wasteful water-line problems (June 16 Eagle). Why did it take so long?

High ozone on the open Plains – what a joke. I’d wager that someone is looking to profit by starting a business to inspect vehicle emissions for a fee on an annual basis.

Someone really should show Rep. Mike Pompeo how to do a simple Google search. It would save him and the state of Kansas a lot of embarrassment.

We should donate Goodland and the unpopulated western counties to the new emerging state of North Colorado. Budget savings on infrastructure, roads and schools would be phenomenal given the minimal tax revenues lost. We could even throw in Rep. Tim Huelskamp.

Benedict Arnold, John Anthony Walker, Edward Snowden. All followed their conscience, but all were still traitors.

I suffer from cognitive dissonance on Snowden. It was wrong that he released the information that he did, but I am glad it is out there so we can have the debate that is needed.

I heard that a restaurant in Virginia was kid-free. Why can’t someone in Wichita grant us a good dining experience and do the same thing? It will be filled all the time. There’s nothing worse than trying to eat and carry on a conversation with a screaming kid in the background.

Instead of adopting the Common Core education standards, simply make it a Kansas requirement from sixth grade up to have a 2.5 GPA to get a driver’s license at age 16.

Do all the drivers who are texting really believe that no one can tell?
