Two teens told police that a man armed with a handgun forced his way into an apartment and robbed them of cash and cellphones Friday night near 21st and Edgemoor.

Wichita police Sgt. Bruce Watts said the robbery occurred as one 18-year-old woman opened the door about 9:30 p.m. to let another 18-year-old woman inside. The man, whom the teens say they didn’t know, demanded money and then collected an undisclosed amount of cash and the phones before he ran away, Watts said.

Watts said neither teen suffered injuries in the scuffle, but both refused to cooperate with police.

“They would not allow officers in the apartment to process the scene,” Watts said. “Officers stated they could mell marijuana coming from inside.”
