Butterfly count set for June 22 in Flint Hills

The fifth annual Marvin Schwilling Memorial Butterfly Count will be held June 22 at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve near Strong City.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.

Participants will count butterflies in groups and are asked to bring binoculars, water, sunscreen and bug spray. Cameras are also welcome. Lunch and water will be provided. No previous experience is required.
