Citizenship should be done one case at a time. Many immigrants deserve that honor. But our house is dirty, too, as we have been providing drug war incentive with product demand. Yes, secure the border, but that should have been the first thing President Bush did after we were attacked.

Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore both vehemently oppose the massive collection of personal data by the government. It may be hot in western Kansas, but purgatory is freezing over.

So now the EPA has “mistakenly” disclosed confidential information on 80,000 famers to left-leaning groups. The abuses go on.

When George W. Bush was arrogant, defiant and dishonest, it cost us upward of 5,000 American lives. How does that even come close to Barack Obama?

Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and the IRS and NSA scandals make Watergate look like a walk in the park.

The good news is that Rep. Michele Bachmann is not running again in 2014. The bad news is that she is still be a member of the critical House Intelligence Committee until 2015.

I’m going to designate myself the new Neighborhood Watch Captain for Water Conservation in Wichita, and the city is my first target. They darn well better be the “leaders by example” on conserving our water. Maybe a support group would help. We can call it COW (Conserving Our Water).

This week is the first time I’ve heard “FairTax” out of Topeka. If this is the goal, we need to delve into this proposition before we wake up one day and find our new sales tax for all goods and services at 18 percent.

As a 40-year alumnus, I would hate to think after all these years that Southeast High School would be moving. Please renovate the school and keep it open.

Anonymity is a safeguard for people like you, but to the Opinion Line contributor who complained about having to buy a Riverfest button in order to buy lunch: You are a cheapskate by any definition. Why not pay $5 to support a great event?

Gene Stephenson’s situation shows that the world does not revolve around us, especially when your ego makes you believe you can lay down the rules to your bosses. No person is bigger than the organization.

So an Opinion Line contributor thinks WSU baseball fans who have stopped going to games show no loyalty? How about the loyalty that Stephenson and his two underlings displayed when they ran off to Oklahoma in the middle of the night and left the Shockers with no management?
