Wichita police are investigating a shooting that happened around 5:30 Sunday morning in the 1600 block of South Volutsia.

A man told police he had walked out of his house when a person not known to him climbed out of a dark gray vehicle and began shooting multiple times. The man was shot in his right thigh and right foot and rushed first to Via Christi Hospital on East Harry, then to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis.

Police found multiple shell casings on the street in front of the man’s home, according to Sgt. Jim Pinegar, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
