A 3-year-old boy hurt when a television crushed him Saturday has died, a house manager at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis said.

The boy died of his injuries at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, the house manager said. His identity has not been released.

The 3-year-old was rushed to St. Francis in critical condition about 4 p.m. Saturday after a “large, box-style TV” and dresser tipped over on him as he played videogames with other young children, Wichita police Sgt. Ron Hunt said over the weekend. The children were in a bedroom at the house in the 2200 block of North Waco when the accident occurred, Hunt said; adults in a nearby room heard the crash and called 911.

The boy suffered head injuries in the accident, Hunt said Saturday.
