The Kansas Highway Patrol has released names of four people killed Tuesday in a fiery crash in Ellsworth County.

Kevin J. Dorrell, 54; Debra M. Dorrell, 51; 15-year-old Justin Turner; and Joe Turner, 11, all of Aurora, Colo., died when their 2003 Cadillac Escalade slammed into a disabled semi-trailer that had parked along I-70 about eight miles north of Ellsworth, according to an online crash report from the highway patrol.

A 9-year-old boy was the sole survivor in the SUV after an Ellsworth man pulled him from the wreckage, Trooper Ben Gardner has said; the others were already dead. The child was taken to a Salina hospital then was flown to Wichita for treatment. Gardner said extensive damage to the vehicle prevented emergency responders from immediately determining the ages and genders of those who died in the crash.

The SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed east on 1-70 just east of K-14 when it hit the semi shortly after 9:30 a.m., Gardner has said.
