Site helps with requests for open records

  • Published Monday, May 27, 2013, at 6:20 a.m.

Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

For a complete list of You Oughta Know columns, go to www.kansas.com/oughta.

The record: A list of open-records custodians for Sedgwick County

Why you’d want it: To learn where to direct a request under the Kansas Open Records Act. There is a custodian for each department.

Where you get it: Go to www.sedgwickcounty.org/kora/kora_coordinators.htm.

How much does it cost: The information is free.
