A man was taken into custody after a short car chase at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning in east Wichita, police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said.

Police saw the man leaving the scene of a hit-and-run accident, and when they tried to pull him over, he fled.

The man, who had a suspended license, stopped his car after the brief chase and took off on foot.

He was caught by an officer and taken into custody, Brunscheen said.

No injuries were reported.
