Services for former Royals broadcaster Fred White, who died on May 15, will take place on May 28 at the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village.

White, 76, died from complications of melanoma one day after he officially retired from the Royals following a 40-year association. He worked with Denny Matthews as the Royals’ broadcast team from 1973 to 1998, and more recently was the team's Director of Broadcast Services and Royals Alumni.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kansas Wildscape Foundation (Fred White Memorial Project), Rainbows United, Footprints-Royals' Charities, Kansas City Hospice House or a children's charity. Memorials may be sent to the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
