Country superstar Tim McGraw will open the Kansas Star Casino’s new concert and events center, the casino announced Monday. The three-time Grammy winner will appear at the grand opening of the Kansas Star Arena on July 7 with country artist Joe Nichols.

McGraw has sold more than 40 million albums and recorded 33 number one singles. Nichols has won new artist awards from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, and has earned four Grammy nominations.

The Kansas Star Arena will seat about 6,000 people for the concert. It has been remodeled since serving as the Kansas Star’s temporary casino starting in December 2011. The permanent casino opened in December 2012.

“It’s incredibly exciting to land such a big-name entertainer,” Scott Cooper, Kansas Star general manager, said in a written statement.

Tickets starting at $77 will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at www.kansasstararena.com .
