The Wichita Wingnuts rallied from an early, 3-0 deficit for a 4-3 win over the Kansas City T-Bones on Saturday night in Kansas City, Kan.

After trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning, Wingnuts’ pitchers combined for eight shutout innings.

Wichita’s C.J. Ziegler made the score 3-1 with a solo home run in the top of the second — Ziegler’s third homer in three games to start the season, which is one shy of the team record.

In the top of the third inning, with two outs, Jake Kahaulelio hit a two-run home run to bring in Ryan Khoury and tie the game at 3-3.

Khoury delivered the game-winning RBI in the top of the fifth with a single that brought home Jared McDonald, who reached on a double, and made the score 4-3.

Wichita starter Ryan Hinson was able to get the game back under control after allowing a three-run home run to Matt Padgett in the first, allowing six hits, two walks and striking out three in five innings to get the victory.

Anthony Capra led off a series of four Wingnuts’ relievers — followed by Nick Walters, Daniel Bennett and Josh Dew — who finished the game off for Wichita. Dew earned his first save of the year.
