Wichita police on Saturday gave new information about the reported abduction of a 12-year-old girl on East Harry who was later found OK, saying a 17-year-old suspect was arrested.

The 17-year-old was booked into a juvenile facility on unrelated charges and based on warrants, Sgt. Bruce Watts said.

Watts said the 12-year-old victim and two other girls, ages 12 and 11, were walking in the 5000 block of East Harry about 9 p.m. Friday when an unknown male tried to grab one of the 12-year-olds. The two other girls ran to get help; police later found the victim at the home of one of the other girls, in the 1600 block of South Glendale.

The Exploited and Missing Child Unit is involved in the ongoing investigation, Watts said.
