Wichita-area residents this Saturday can help the needy, all with little effort, a food drive spokesman said Monday.

It will be as easy as leaving non-perishable food beside your mailbox.

Wichita letter carriers are preparing to carry out their annual Food Drive this Saturday.

Larry Gunkel, a former letter carrier now working for the Kansas Food Bank, said the one-day food drive will help the Food Bank help get area children through the summer months.

Area residents should place non-perishable food (no glass) beside mailboxes early in the morning on Saturday..
