3 airmen killed in KC-135 crash identified; crew was from Fairchild AFB

The Department of Defense identified the three airmen killed when a KC-135 tanker assigned to McConnell Air Force Base crashed Friday near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan.

The airmen, who were assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington, the news release said.

The three airmen killed were:

• Capt. Mark T. Voss, 27, of Colorado Springs

• Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, 27, of Palmdale, Calif.

• Tech Sgt. Herman Mackey III, 30, of Bakersfield, Calif.

“The loss of any member in the tanker community affects everyone within the community. McConnell extends our sincerest condolences to the families and friends affected by this tragedy,” the release said.
