11 arrested in South Broadway prostitution sting

Eleven people were arrested during a prostitution sting in south Wichita on Tuesday, police said.

Ten men and one woman were arrested along or near South Broadway, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

Because the area has a history of prostitution, “we try to put together stings every so often, making sure we’re keeping tabs on what’s going on down there,” he said.

Sometimes stings are conducted following complaints by residents or businesses, he said, but this one was not prompted by a complaint.
