Police on Tuesday apprehended a man suspected of vehicle theft after he led authorities on a foot chase in north Wichita, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said.

The call started with a report of a stolen vehicle at 4:50 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Jackson, the dispatcher said. That’s near 29th Street North and Arkansas. The man quickly bailed from the car, she said, and a search ensued.

The man was taken into custody by police in the 3000 block of North Salina about 40 minutes later, according to dispatch. Sedgwick County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene to treat the man for minor injuries, the dispatcher said.
