Acting on a tip from a concerned neighbor, police found three young children alone at a home north of downtown Wichita on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The caller wanted police to check on the welfare of the children, who are 3, 2 and 8 months. Officers went to their home in the 1300 block of North Broadway at about 8:30 a.m.

Initial reports that the children had wandered away were not correct, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The children’s father was on the scene, dispatchers said.

No arrests were made and the children were allowed to stay in the home, the supervisor said.
