Opinion Line Extra (April 30)

The reason for the drought these past couple years is because we spent millions on the Cowskin Creek flood-control program.

The more commentary that I hear from our state and federal politicians. the more convinced I am that they operate under the aura of, “My mind is made up. Don’t confuse me with the facts.”

A majority of the American people were overwhelmingly opposed to Obamacare, yet Democrats rammed it down our throats anyway. Now some Democrats in Congress are seeking to exempt themselves and their staff members from it. It appears their hypocrisy knows no limits.

It’s a shame Sen. John McCain hasn’t realized yet that we have killed enough of our valuable young people and spent too much of our resources in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is now urging President Obama to move into Syria. I think it’s time to put McCain out to pasture.

What I’d give for five minutes alone with Kim Jong Un.

I am not a Republican nor a Democrat. I am a citizen of the USA, and the next time an election comes up, any position, I am running for office, for the people. And how they want me to vote is how I will vote, politics or not. I will work for the people.

If you are going to purchase an assault weapon, the first requirement should be a colonoscopy so you can find out where your head is.

There is no “gun show/Internet loophole.” Read “Anti-gun rhetoric” (April 28 Letters to the Editor). Read it again. Those are the facts.

Any sane adult should be able to own a gun, but he should only be allowed one bullet, which must be carried in his shirt pocket. This includes police officers.

If Fort Hood was workplace violence, then so was Sept 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center. All of those people were at work also.

Oscar Wilde said: “There is much to be said in favor of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.” Based on many of the comments in Opinion Line, we have more than our quota of ignorant folks.

I wish The Eagle and local TV stations had better coverage of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Why can’t The Eagle fold the Go! section evenly? This takes my OCD to a new level every Friday.
