A Reno County volunteer firefighter, arrested last Friday on suspicion on 14 counts of arson, has been released on a $7,500 bond.

Cody Cox, 19, was studying fire science last fall at the Hutchinson Community College when there was a series of fires between October 16 through Nov. 12, according to a news release issued Monday by the Reno County Sheriff’s Department. Cox was a volunteer member of the Reno County District 4 Fire Department.

His first court appearance is scheduled Friday.
