A man was found dead in Naftzger Park, at Douglas and St. Francis, Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses said the man had been drinking since early morning and they saw him later in the morning slumped over at a table in the park.

Rescue workers were called to the scene about 2:14 p.m., but failed to revive him. He was pronounced dead at 2:23 p.m., a Sedgwick County dispatcher said.

Wichita police Sgt. Ben Jonker said the death is medically related. He didn’t know whether the man, age 55, was homeless.
