The Health and Wellness Coalition of Wichita plans to host several events to celebrate May as Wichita Bike Month.

Bike to Work Day is May 17. From 7 to 9 a.m., the coalition and Flying Donuts will have breakfast stations in the downtown area for bikers to grab free pastries and juice. The locations are:

• Corner of Douglas and Pattie.

• Corner of Fountain and Second Street.

• Along the river path at 13th Street.

• Along the river path at the Keeper of the Plains.

Jimmy John’s will host a bicycle luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 17 in Old Town Square.

Throughout the month, the coalition is hosting the Shift to Bikes Corporate Challenge. In the challenge, five-member teams will earn points each week of May by doing such things as biking to work, biking while running errands and biking recreationally. Teams will report points each week, and at the end of the month, the coalition will award a trophy to the team with the most points.
