Zach Fish drove in the tying run in the eighth and the winning run in the 12th as Oklahoma State edged Wichita State 6-5 at Stillwater on Tuesday night.

Fish’s infield single drove in Tanner Krietemeier in the eighth. Fish hit a slow dribbler to WSU shortstop Erik Harbutz who threw to Casey Gillaspie at first, but Fish beat the throw and Krietemeier scored from second base. Gillaspie stretched for the throw and could not recover to throw to the plate.

The same OSU duo combined in the 12th for the game-winner. Krietemeier led off with a single and stole second. After an out, Fish hit a game-winning single.

The Shockers blew a good scoring opportunity in the 12th.

Tanner Dearman opened with a single, his third hit of the game. Garrett Bayliff hit a fly to right that Fish dropped, putting runners on first and second with none out.

Harbutz then hit one-hopper to OSU pitcher Brendan McCurry, who started a successful double play, the Cowboys’ third of the game.

McCurry, OSU’s closer, came on in the seventh with two out and two on. He got Micah Green to fly out to end the inning.

McCurry blanked WSU the rest of the way (5 1/3 innings) on two hits. He allowed just one Shocker to reach third base.

Tyler Baker got the Shockers on the board first with a single, driving in Green, who had doubled down the right-field line.

OSU wiped that deficit out with three in the third. Krietemeier scored the third run on a Kris Gardner wild pitch. Earlier in the inning, Gardner threw wildly to second on a force play.

The Cowboys added a run in the fourth and would have had more, but Donnie Walton tried to score from second base on a wild pitch and was out.

WSU took a 5-4 lead with three in the sixth. The big hit was Baker’s two-run triple, driving in Gillaspie, who had walked, and Coy, who had singled.

Notes — WSU lost its first extra-inning game after two wins. OSU is 4-1.. . . Bayliff stretched his hitting streak to 11 games. During that stretch, he’s hitting .364, with six doubles and 10 runs scored. . . Freshman Garrett Brummett will make his first collegiate start tonight at Eck Stadium against Oral Roberts. . . Gillaspie, who is third in the nation in drawing walks, added two more against OSU.. .. Gametime temperature at Stillwater was 39 degrees.
