A Larned man got minor cuts Monday morning when a turkey went through the windshield of his SUV.

David Miller, 65, was eastbound on U.S. 50 shortly before 9 a.m. when a turkey flew through his windshield. The turkey fell into Miller’s lap before it ended up in the lap of passenger Dena Miller, 56, also of Larned.

David Miller was treated at the scene for minor cuts and glass in his eyes. Dena Miller was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.

The large tom turkey was killed in the accident, according to Reno County Sheriff’s Capt. Wayne Baughman.
