The Wichita State women’s bowling team was eliminated in the semifinals of the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships on Friday in Lincoln, Neb.

The Shockers lost to Maryland-Eastern Shore 4-1 on Friday morning in the Red Bracket winners’ bracket final. WSU won the first game of the best-of seven Baker format series 232-193, but couldn’t advance as Eastern Shore rolled games of 230, 224, 256 and 225.

WSU dropped to the losers bracket and beat Kutztown State 4-1 to earn another shot at Eastern Shore. In the rematch, the Shockers again won the first game, 217-178, lost the second game, then won the third 247-182. Maryland-Eastern Shore closed out the Shockers by winning the next three games 223-208, 232-210 and 177-173.

Maryland-Eastern Shore will face Pikeville in Saturday’s ITC final. Robert Morris and McKendree will meet in the men’s final.

Three Wichita State bowlers are among the four women who will battle for the singles championship at 3 p.m. Saturday. Jazreel Tan, Tannya Roumimper and Dasha Kovalova all qualified for the semifinals during competition earlier in the week.
