Two men in their early 20s were arrested after they tried to run from a traffic stop in north Wichita early Friday morning, police said.

The officer tried to pull the car over for traffic infractions shortly before 1 a.m. near 23rd North and Fairview, between Broadway and Arkansas, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said. The car pulled over about a block later, but the driver bolted from the car.

He ran between houses and forced open the door to a house, where he hid, Nolte said. Officers following him found the open door and arrested him.

The passenger also ran from the car but was found hiding outside not far away, Nolte said. Police found marijuana in the car.
