Police are hoping evidence will shed light on a shooting in west Wichita on Monday afternoon.

A 29-year-old woman reported she was shot with her gun by two intruders shortly after 1:30 p.m. at her house in the 11000 block of West Hadden, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s southwest of Pawnee and Maize Road.

The woman walked to a neighbor’s porch, where she was found by the resident, Nolte said. She was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis with a gunshot wound to her shoulder.

The victim was “very incoherent” at the time she was found, and has not given police much information – including a description of the suspects, Nolte said.

“There are a lot of different accounts of what might have happened,” Nolte said. “We don’t have a full picture.”

The woman is expected to recover fully from her injury, he said.
