Police: Repairman takes TV after owner doesn’t pay him

  • Published Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 12:23 p.m.

Wichita police were called to a house in the 1600 block of South Fern, near Seneca and McCormick, shortly after midnight Tuesday where a woman told police her television had just been taken along with several other items in the house.

“An individual had performed work on the television and stereo for the individuals at that residence and they did not pay for the work,” said Lt. Doug Nolte, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. “He came back and forced his way into the home, past the female that was there.”

The robber then took the television as payment for his services along with other items, Nolte said.

“Our victim was not injured nor was there damage to the house during the robbery,” he said.
