Two people were hurt Monday when a John Deere Gator utility vehicle ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle in Winfield, the Kansas Highway Patrol reports.

The second vehicle, a 2001 Ford Utility, rolled once and landed on its wheels after the Gator smashed into its driver’s side.

The Ford’s driver, 42-year-old Brandi Chisholm of Winfield, was taken to William Newton Hospital for treatment. Her passenger, 29-year-old Shane Shorter of Ponca City, was not hurt, according to the highway patrol.

Michael Thornton, who was driving the Gator, also was transported to the hospital with injuries. Thornton, 44, is a Wichita resident, the patrol said.

The crash happened at 11:30 a.m. at Broadway Sports Complex, 2225 Broadway St. in Winfield. The highway patrol said the Gator was headed west on Broadway Court when it collided with the Ford, which was southbound on Broadway Street.
