Robbers took shoes from victims in two incidents early Friday morning, Wichita police said.

What’s not clear is whether the two incidents are related.

In the first incident, about 12:05 a.m., two men in their 20s were walking east in the 8000 block of West Kellogg. An unknown white man, described as having a dark brown beard and being about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds and wearing a black baseball cap, walked up and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the head of one victim. The men handed over money and credit cards, and the robber also took one man’s shoes, police Lt. Doug Nolte said.

In the other incident, about 1:30 a.m., a man in his early 40s was in the 600 block of West Harry when a robber punched him in the face and took his cellphone and shoes. The robber and a second suspect were described as being Native American men, one about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 285 pounds and the other described as being short and heavy, Nolte said.

The victim was taken to Via Christi on St. Francis in fair condition, he said.
