City officials have issued a corrected address for the site of the April 18 drought public meetings in District 5.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 18 at Fire Station No. 21, 2110 N. 135th Street West.

The city has scheduled six public meetings to seek residents’ input on how the region should respond to prolonged drought conditions, how residents are affected by the drought and to get residents’ ideas on how to extend the water supply.

The Wichita region is in the third year of a prolonged drought that has brought Cheney Lake to the brink of losing available water. The lake, which supplies Wichita with about 60 percent of its water supply, will cease yielding drinking water in August 2015 if the drought doesn’t break.

Other scheduled meetings include:

April 16

District 1, 5:30 p.m., Atwater City Hall, 2755 E. 19th St. North

District 4, 7:30 p.m., Alford Branch Library, 3447 S. Meridian

April 17

District 3, 5:30 p.m., Water Center, 101 E. Pawnee

District 2, 7:30 p.m., Fire Station No. 20, 2255 S. Greenwich

April 18

District 6, 7:30 p.m., Evergreen Recreation Center, 2700 N. Woodland
