A man with two girlfriends got shot at on Tuesday, and the bullets broke the back window of a car with a 3-year-old girl inside, Wichita police said Wednesday.

The man, 20, was arguing beside the car with one of his girlfriends, age 22, at 14th and Broadview, Lt. Doug Nolte said. The 3-year-old was the woman’s daughter, he said.

The couple was arguing about his other girlfriend, an 18-year-old, Nolte said.

Someone from a nearby car suddenly fired four to five shots, missing everyone but breaking out the window, Nolte said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police gang unit at 316-268-4181, Nolte said.

The man and woman who got shot at were taken into custody on suspicion of causing a disturbance, Nolte said.
