Louisville facts

1. Cardinals coach Rick Pitino is the first to take three teams to a Final Four: Providence (1987), Kentucky (1993, 1996, 1997), Louisville (2005, 2012, 2013)

2. Louisville defeated Northern Iowa 51-46 in November and defeated Illinois State 69-66 in December. Cardinals center Gorgui Dieng, recovering from a broken wrist, did not play against Illinois State.

3. Wichita State director of player development Devon Smith is a former director of operations at Louisville under Pitino.

4. The Cardinals force an average of 18.6 turnovers a game.

5. Louisville was a member of the Missouri Valley Conference from 1964-1975. It is 19-5 against the Shockers. WSU won the last meeting, 78-74 in 1976.
