A Truesdell Middle School student faces disciplinary action by the school after inadvertently bringing a knife to class Thursday, Wichita school district spokeswoman Susan Arensman said by e-mail.

The student “forgot it was in his pocket and it fell out,” Arensman said of the knife. “No threats. No arrests.”

Officers were dispatched to the school, near Pawnee and Seneca, around 3:30 p.m. after 911 received a weapons-related report at 2464 S. Glenn, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The call was cleared as a non-police incident a short time later, he said.

No injuries were reported.
