An argument between two women escalated when one of them pulled out a small handgun and threatened to kill the other in downtown Wichita on Monday afternoon, police said.

The armed woman left the clash in the 600 block of North Topeka and the victim called police, Lt. Doug Nolte said. An officer spotted the 24-year-old suspect at the QuikTrip at Broadway and Murdock and took her into custody.

The 26-year-old victim was not hurt, Nolte said. Police did not say what spawned the argument.
