Ferrellgas Partners, one of the nation’s largest distributors of propane, has named Boyd H. McGathey its executive vice president and chief operating officer.
In his new role, McGathey oversees Ferrellgas and Blue Rhino Retail Operations, the company’s Ferrell North America commodity risk management and wholesale sales business unit, and its safety and marketing departments.
McGathey re-joined Ferrellgas, which is based in Overland Park, in March of 2011 as senior vice president of retail operations. Prior to that, he was with Inergy Propane and Liberty Propane, which sold to Inergy in 2009.
McGathey began his career in the propane industry with Ferrellgas in 1989 and served in numerous roles before leaving the company in 2001.
