Kathie and Kellie Henderson, twin Wichita sisters who identified themselves by name as victims of child sexual abuse in 2010, will appear on “The Ricki Lake Show,” a syndicated daytime talk show, an associate producer said in an e-mail. Jessica Grose, an associate producer, said the show will air April 10.

The sisters said the talk show flew them to California for a taping several weeks ago, along with Shelly Vasey, the Wichita woman who along with her husband Jim rescued them from child abuse inflicted on them by the sisters’ own family. The Vaseys were neighbors to the Hendersons in east Wichita.

The sisters identified themselves by name in stories in The Eagle to create more public awareness. They said they wanted their names made public because they believe too much secrecy surrounding sexual abuse cases helps contribute to public ignorance about how widespread the crime is.
