A man reported being beaten and robbed by two men Thursday afternoon, police said.

The 24-year-old victim said the two men approached him at about 3 p.m. and told him they wanted to talk to him, then led him to a backyard of a house in the 400 block of North Cleveland, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. There, they beat the victim and robbed him of cash, a necklace and a sports watch.

They then headed west on Third Street. The two suspects are both black males in their early 20s, the victim told police. Both had medium builds and were about 6 feet tall. One had a shaved head and wore a purple plaid shirt and blue jeans with purple styling on the back pockets, Schroeder said.

The other had a flat-top haircut and wore black clothing and black-rimmed glasses.
