Someone fired two shots into the bedroom of a house in southeast Wichita early Friday morning but the two people inside escaped injury, police said.

The drive-by was reported shortly after midnight in the 2100 block of South Wallace, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. That’s southwest of Woodlawn and Mount Vernon.

Police found no shell casings but did find bullet holes in a bedroom, Schroeder said. Neither the 40-year-old woman nor the 17-year-old girl who live there had any idea who might have done it, he said.

Officers interviewed neighbors but were unable to come up with additional information to assist the investigation, Schroeder said.
