TREVON EVANS

6-0, jr., Eisenhower

Evans, who led Eisenhower to a 19-2 record and a Class 5A sub-state final, was expected to be a greater offensive presence and he was, averaging 25.8 points. Evans, an outstanding and quick ballhandler, had games of 44, 39 and 37 points, while also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.2 steals.

CONNER FRANKAMP

6-1, sr., North

Frankamp, a three-time All-Metro selection who has signed with Kansas, led North to a 20-3 record, the City League title and its second straight Class 6A tourney berth. He set the league career scoring record with 2,275 career points. He shot 49.2 percent from three, making 93 threes, and had 14 games of 31 or more points, five of 40 or more.

BRADEN HULLINGS

5-11, sr., Kapaun

Hullings, who led Kapaun to the Class 5A tournament and a 17-8 record, was difficult for opponents to defend. He used his speed to drive past defenders to the basket, and if he was fouled, hit 84 percent from the line. He shot 45 percent from the floor and led Kapaun with 16.4 points and 2.2 steals.

TAYLOR SCHIEBER

6-2, sr., Derby

Schieber led Derby (20-4) to the Class 6A tourney for the first time since 1997 and third place, the school’s best finish. Schieber’s strength was offensively, averaging 19.3 points, shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from three.

ZACH WINTER

6-2, sr., Andover Central

Winter led Andover Central in scoring (18.4 points), assists (2.9), steals (2.9) and rebounding (7.2). If the Jaguars (17-5) needed him to score 35, as he did in a three-overtime win against Andover, then that’s what he did. If they needed him to battle much bigger opponents for rebounds, he did it.

BRETT FLORY

Derby coach

Flory led Derby to a 20-4 record and the Class 6A tournament, ending a state tourney drought dating back to the 1996-97 season. Derby finished third in Class 6A, the school’s best finish in state.
