A driver making an illegal U-turn through at a median on I-235 in Wichita caused a chain of collisions between five other vehicles Wednesday afternoon in Wichita, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
At least four of the drivers and a 7-year-old passenger suffered injuries or possible injuries in the accident, the agency said in a crash report.
The accident happened in the left southbound lane of the highway at mile marker 15.2 at about 5:25 p.m.
A 29-year-old Hutchinson woman was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment, according to the highway patrol. Information on her condition was not available from the hospital Wednesday evening.
Details on the driver who allegedly caused the crash were not immediately available from the highway patrol.
