An Argonia woman died Wednesday after her car crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a semi.
Linda D. Haskin, 57, lost control of the 1997 Dodge passenger car she was driving west on U-160 after the collision and slid into a ditch, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report. The car struck a guardrail, causing the car to flip and land on its top in a creek.
The crash happened at about 3:25 p.m. about 1.5 miles east of Argonia, in Sumner County, the highway patrol reported.
Haskin died at the scene. Her 21-year-old passenger, Samantha Haskin, was transported to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment. A 3-month-old boy in the car also suffered injuries; he was taken to Sumner Regional Medical Center, according to the crash report.
Both passengers are Argonia residents. Updates on their conditions were not available from hospital staff Wednesday night.
The driver of the semi, 30-year-old Jeremy Perry of Valley Center, was uninjured, the highway patrol reports.
